New Costco in Sioux Falls on Schedule to Open in October; Will Employ 200-250
“Construction is going very well. They have had good weather and they are right on schedule,” General Manager Bruce Miles told KELO-TV.
Costco purchased the old Williams Pipeline site in April with construction beginning in May. There was some concern about the project when original developer Don Dunham died. However, the project continued to move forward.
In addition to providing residents with another place to shop, Costco will boost the local economy by adding between 200 and 250 new jobs.
“We plan to employ between 200-250 people from the local area, not to mention the people we hire to help service the facility which will add additional jobs to the area,” Miles told KELO-TV. “We look forward to offering positions to people that understand what customer service is, enjoy working with people, have a good work ethic and great attitude.”
Costco is one of the country’s largest retailers. The warehouse-style stores require a membership.
