Naughty National Weather Service Map

Winter Storm Rocky is about to pound Kansas City.

Meteorologists are never perfect. Especially when predicting snowfall totals. So why didn't the National Weather Service just lie when drawing up this map? They could have made it an oval, or any other shape, but not this one.
