I shouldn't be surprised that there is a National Tap Dance Day! Tap dancing is awesome! And if hot dogs have a national day (July 19) then tap dancing definitely should.

According to Wikipedia:

The idea of National Tap Dance Day was first presented to U.S. Congress on February 7, 1989 and was signed into American law by President George H.W. Bush on November 8, 2004.[1] The one-time official observance was on May 25, 1989.[2][3]

I fancy myself a tap dancer. I took my first class in college and then continued classes for a few years when I moved to Sioux Falls. However, I say I'm a tap dancer until I see a Broadway show with tap or a tap routine on So You Think You Can Dance? and then realize quickly that I have a lot to learn.

I miss tapping regularly and hope to get back in the swing swoon, but until then I thought I would show you some of my favorite tap numbers of all time!

How I wish I could be a Syncopated Lady!

And it wouldn't be a tap dancing post without the legends! Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis Jr.!

I guess that is enough for now. I could go on and on with this!
