North Dakota has been in the news over the last several months because of its booming economy, thanks to the oil rush in the state's Northwest corner.  But North Dakota might not be alone when it comes to thriving economies.

The National Journal is shining its 'America 360' spotlight on Sioux Falls this week under the headline: 'Is Sioux Falls The Next Boom Town?'.

In the first article, the Journal calls Sioux Falls:

...a city blessed with consistently low unemployment—the current rate is 3.5 percent—multiple thriving industries, and few of the woes that plague larger urban areas.

The focus of the story is a conversation with Mayor Mike Huether, who is in the process of finishing his first term in office and getting ready to run for re-election next year.

The talk ranges from where Sioux Falls has come from, the low unemployment rate, the challenges of a growing city, and the role of agriculture in the city's economy.
