The Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce, along with the League of Women Voters, is hosting a 2014 Municipal Election Candidate Forum tonight beginning at 5:30 pm at Carnegie Town Hall.  The event is free and open to the public.

Each candidate will have one minute to make an opening statement, one minute to respond to various questions submitted from the audience through a moderator and one minute to make concluding remarks.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Mayoral: 5:30-6:30 p.m.
  • At-Large Council “A” and Council “B”: 6:45-7:45 p.m.
  • Central District Council and Southeast District Council: 8-9 p.m.

Online viewing is also available at www.siouxfalls.org (under “Key Resources” select City Council Meetings located on the right hand side). Citizens may call in with questions during the forum (605-367-8080) and questions emailed from the viewing audience will also be accepted during the forum (clerks@siouxfalls.org).

Cable Channel CityLink will broadcast the event live and rebroadcast it from March 21 through April 6. Times of rebroadcast are 2:30 p.m. each Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, as well as at 6 p.m. each Monday and Wednesday.

Also, the deadline to register to vote is Monday, March 24; absentee ballots start Tuesday, March 25, and the election is Tuesday, April 8, 2014.
