Authorities handed out a formal indictment for the day care operator and her husband who sold methamphetamine out of their home.

Thirty-three-year-old Jennifer Darger and 32-year-old Adam Darger face child abuse and drug charges in an eight-count indictment. The Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force searched the home on West Fifty-Third Street earlier this month.

Instrumental in the investigation was Jennifer Darger's teenage daughter who told a counselor that her mother recently relapsed into addiction. Further probing revealed that the daughter had to watch the children at the daycare while her mother sold drugs.

The indictment alleges that the drug activity has been occurring at the home for almost a year. Fallout from the raid included Sioux Falls yanking Jennifer Darger’s in-home day care license.

Both Dargers are under court order not to have contact with each other. Jennifer Darger is also instructed to have no contact with her children.
