STURGIS, S.D. (AP) - A Southern California motorcycle parts manufacturer is planning to hire 30 workers when it opens a new facility next year in Sturgis.

The Rapid City Journal reports that Samson Exhaust of Brea, Calif., has begun construction on a 45,000-square-foot building on a three-acre site in the Sturgis Industrial Park.

City officials say the project that is expected to be completed in April.

Samson Exhaust is a 21-year-old company that manufactures exhaust systems, mufflers and accessories for motorcycles.

Samson founder and chief executive officer Kenny Price says he has long wanted to move his manufacturing operation to Sturgis.
