More Cold and Wind Chills For Sioux Falls
The cold is back in the Sioux Empire. Temperatures are expected to drop below zero Tuesday night. Wednesday it will warm to only about 2 above.
The big weather deal for the next couple days will once again be the wind chills. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for all of South Eastren South Dakota into Minnesota and Iowa. The advisory is in effect from midnight Wednesday until noon on Thursday. It looks to warm up into the teens this weekend.

* WIND...NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS WILL AVERAGE 10 TO 20 MPH TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. * WIND CHILL VALUES...WIND CHILL VALUES WILL DROP TO 20 TO 25 BELOW ZERO FOR MUCH OF TONIGHT. ONLY A SLIGHT RECOVERY IS EXPECTED DURING THE DAY ON WEDNESDAY BEFORE PLUMMETING TO 20 TO 35 BELOW WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY MORNING. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A WIND CHILL ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN A STRONG WIND WILL COMBINE WITH COLD TEMPERATURES TO CREATE DANGEROUSLY COLD CONDITIONS FOR EXPOSED SKIN. THE WIND WILL MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS 20 DEGREES BELOW ZERO OR COLDER FOR A PERIOD OF SEVERAL HOURS. THOSE PLANNING TO VENTURE OUTDOORS SHOULD DRESS WARMLY...MAKING SURE THAT ALL EXPOSED SKIN IS COVERED.
