Sioux Falls Police arrested the mother of the baby that was found outside a church on October third. The child was in the open for 18 hours.

"Initially we had enough information to charge dad," according to Sioux Falls Police Department Public Information Officer Sam Clemens.

"There was more information that came to light. On Friday afternoon an arrest warrant was issued for mom as well. She was found on Saturday and arrested. Same charges - abuse or cruelty to a minor and contributing to the neglect of a child."

The mom is identified as Mary Jennesse. The baby's father, Ronald Harrison, has been in jail for several weeks.

The infant was placed in protective custody since discovered by an employee of the church.
