Missy Elliott has been back on the music scene for a brief minute after dropping "WTF (Where They From)" back in November and "Pep Rally" in February. There were rumblings that Missy was gearing up to release a new album, and with the above post to Instagram, Missy at least shows that she's in the lab working with like minds.

On Wednesday (April 20), Missy posted the above split shot of her in Bruno Mars in the studio together, writing, "Big up to @brunomars I had a blast with him in the studio vibing! #magic He such a rare gem & such a humble spirit! I am so humbled & grateful Bruno. We laughed & laughed the whole night then he played me some (fire) ass songs 4 his album Whewwww #INCREDIBLE It's so inspiring to vibe with ppl who can create real music & have a creative mind! Big up to lisenny from Brooklyn ayyye see y'all soon!"

Just last month, Missy was spotted in the studio alongside T-Pain and Metro Boomin, and while her caption doesn't directly reference time spent collaborating, it isn't a far stretch to take her praises of Mars as the seedlings for a track. In November of 2015, Elliott told Billboard about when to expect a new album, "I want to say 2016 but I don’t want to give a time. Nowadays you say a time, they’ll stone you.” Missy's last release was 2005's The Cookbook, and Pharrell's hand in "WTF (Where The From)" was a encouraging sign that she had been teaming up with some of music's best.

Most recently, Missy was featured on the A$AP Ferg track "Strive," and XXL undertook the task of ranking all of the rapper's albums. Check out her flicks with Bruno Mars up above.
