Missing Man Walks Up To News Crew

Minutes after a local Portland, Maine TV news reporter finished a live update on a disappearance this week, the missing man approached the crew.

This story has a happy ending. And it’s the TV moment of the day without question.

Robert McDonough, 73, is safe after a 14-hour ordeal. McDonough approached WMTW News 8 anchor/reporter Norm Karkos shortly after 6:30 a.m. after Karkos delivered a live update. McDonough began speaking with Karkos and identified himself as Robert McDonough.
