The Minnesota Twins saw their TV ratings increase 24% in 2015 from the previous year according to the Twins and Fox Sports North who made the announcement this week.

The data also states that the Twins had the 10th highest increase in viewership and saw a 4.12 household rating.

FoxSports.com noted that specifically in the Twin Cities market, 17,280 households represent one rating point, which in turn means that more than 71,119 households consistently tuned in to watch the Twins on a nightly basis which is pretty cool if you ask me!

Of course there are always many factors involved in the increase from marketing to performance to timing, but one thing was for sure, the product on the field almost made the playoffs and that had to help.

Plus, I think Fox Sports North does a good job of producing the product and as a regional centric broadcast, they do a good job of highlighting Minnesota summers which are great by themselves, but add a good Twins team and it makes it even more memorable.

If the Twins follow up the surprise success of 2015 with another good campaign in 2016, I'm guessing we'll be seeing a similar increase next year as the Twins bandwagon starts to fill up even more.
