Oh Miley. Trying to take down the Queen – you know, Beyonce — is never, ever a good idea. Good thing she realizes that. Widely circulated quotes claim that Cyrus dissed Bey in a magazine article -- and she moved quickly to squash the beef, saying that the statements were lies.

The falsified quotes were allegedly from Miley's Love cover, the one where she rocks a mohawk. Although untrue, they went like this:

"Beyonce has been a big inspiration to me but she’s been out for such a long time. She’s so talented and I think she’s at the top of the game now but people are always looking for new blood and that’s what I bring to the game now, new blood."

Wait, there's more.

"As Beyoncé grows in motherhood and all the crap it does to your body, it will create a vacuum for fresh young faces to rise up and no one else can properly fill that void right now. I’m the only white female singer that could fill that slot right now and do it right, you know?"

Another statement made it seem that Miss Miley thinks highly – we know, it rhymes! — of herself, with the source quoting her as saying, "I got the total package you know, the curves, the rhythm, and the voice. I’m just the best."

But just as we thought Miley had sunk to the depths of ridiculousness with her statements --and her New York Times profile does her no favors in that respect -- Cyrus swooped in and tweeted that all of these quotes are made up.

We were hoping that they were, since they were beyond disrespectful to Bey.

Cyrus was aghast over the words that were attributed to her, posting: "How are people allowed to make up s--t & then out quotes around it saying I said that shit! WTF!!?!" Note: That's a typo -- she meant "put" quotes around it.

She also wrote: "don't worry. getting 2 the bottom of this s--t. making the liar retract the statement. U can cause ALOT of drama but NOT between me & B!"

Both Miley and Bey had a big 2013, although Miley spent all of 2013 as a topic of conversation with each new stunt she pulled, while Bey was the No. 1 most searched female online and got herself a platinum album with zero promotion and no advance notice and it took her like three weeks to do it. She didn't need to twerk and tongue her way through life to get attention.

And that's why Miley's made up statements sound so ridic.
