Milbank Man Killed in Northeast South Dakota Crash

An elderly Milbank man died Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash three miles east of Wilmot on State Highway 15 in Day County.

The Highway Patrol says 87-year-old Stanley Pew was driving west and approaching an intersection just after 2pm when a Wilmot man driving a semi-truck on the rural road failed to stop at the stop sign.

The semi driven by 40-year-old Timothy James Renelt struck the driver's side door of Pew's car.

Pew suffered fatal injuries. Renelt was not injured.

The Highway Patrol is still investigating.
