Me, the “Current Occupant”

I got a catalog the other day from a computer company, and it was addressed to "Gene Hetland, KSOO-AM, News Director or Current Occupant."

No kidding. Current Occupant?

Now I don't know what they have heard, but I'm still the "Current Occupant," and I've been the News Director for coming up on 30 years in April. And I've been at the radio station for more than 36 years.

OK, I know this was just churned out by their computerized addressing program, and I should just laugh at it and chalk it up to one of those things that only a computer can do.

You know, "To err is human, but to really foul things up requires a computer."

Anyway, I'll just let it pass. But when I'm in the market for a computer, I know where I won't be looking.
