Manny Pacquiao Is Being Sued over Saturday’s Fight

Saturday was a losing day for me and my money. It seemed everything I spent my cash on was a bad choice.

I took my wife and son out for lunch and spent $70 and it wasn’t even close to worth it. Then in the evening I gave $89.95 to my TV provider for the pay-per-view of the big fight.

After the final round number 12, I realized I’d been had once again. The fight was horrible.

I wanted my money back in a big way. But not enough to sue the fighters. However some people have done just that.

Manny Pacquiao, his manager and promoter were sued Tuesday by two fight fans who are seeking class-action damages.

The reason is because the boxer and his handlers failed to disclose that his right shoulder was injured before his fight Saturday against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The suit, filed in federal court in Las Vegas on behalf of plaintiffs Stephane Vanel and Kami Rahbaran, alleges they were defrauded, and it seeks class-action status for anyone who bought tickets or the pay-per-view of the fight, or anyone who bet on the bout.

Mayweather won by unanimous decision. The lawsuit alleges the parties failed to disclose the injury to the Nevada State Athletic Commission and worked to keep it secret from people who paid counting on the contestants to be in proper condition.

Pacquiao’s attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, said he intends to file a motion to dismiss what he described as a “frivolous” case.
