Four major Sioux Falls street projects all began on the same day in late April. All of them are finally open to traffic.

With the opening of Solberg Avenue between 49th and 57th Streets, the odyssey that began on April 27 is now complete. Four lanes of traffic are now in place to open another west side pathway.

Earlier this year, Sioux Falls started a slate of projects with two on the west side of Sioux Falls (12th Street, Solberg) and two in the central part of the city (2nd Ave, 22nd and Minnesota). Granted these four were not the entirety of street construction, but all were lumped together because of their common start date.

The Downtown project finished first with the Minnesota Avenue construction finishing next. Both were completed ahead of schedule. However the west side excursions finished closer to their expected time frame.

Cliff Avenue of course was a big traffic hindrance that started a little earlier than these. Plus a massive reconstruction of 4th Avenue on the east side of McKennan Park deserves mention, though it wasn’t on the same time frame as the others. Take a look at a drive through of before and after construction on the videos below.
