A hot-shooting Red Claws team earned a split of the two-game weekend series by downing Sioux Falls on Sunday 132-111.

One night before was an offensive struggle for Maine (22-15), but adjustments like better ball movement and aggressive defense without fouling keyed the effort. The Skyforce (29-8) scored the first three points of the game, but stayed within striking distance until the final 6 minutes when a Red Claws 13-2 run sealed the contest.

Maine did what no other team had done so far against the Skyforce this season in shooting over 50 percent from the floor (45-77) and winning the game. Giving up 132 points is also a season high for a Sioux Falls opponent this season.

Tim Fraizer in his second game back for the ‘Claws pulled off the Triple Dozen (24 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists) with Corey Walden’s 33 points pushing Maine over the top. Rodney McGruder cranked out a season high 32 points with 9 rebounds and Briante Weber followed with 20 points, 6 assists and 4 steals.

These two teams may meet up again in the playoffs, but for now the regular season series concludes with the Skyforce taking three of the four games. Sioux Falls returns home to face Grand Rapids on Friday and Saturday. Meanwhile Maine will await the arrival of the Iowa Energy on Thursday.
