Between now and Easter, the price of regular unleaded gas is expected to shoot up by as much as 40 cents a gallon.

"We're entering that period where we're going to see increases in most parts of the country."

Why?

He says because of increased demand, the switch over to government mandated summertime blends, and refineries going offline for maintenance.

The hardest hit areas are expected to be the Northeast and West Coast.
