If you've procrastinated on your fall cleanup project and your yard is still covered in leaves, the clock is ticking.

You should know there are two things working against you right about now. Soon, not only will your yard be covered in snow, and I'm talking about the kind of snow that probably won't go away until April around here. And, you're also running out of time to get all those leaves to the Sioux Falls leaf and branch drop-off sites.

The two Sioux Falls sites close this Sunday, (November 27) 2016.

If you're trying to figure out a way to burn off a few of those extra calories, you'll be adding on Thanksgiving Day, grab a rake and get to work. Hey, it beats a treadmill right?

Sioux Falls residents will still be able to drop off loads of leaves and branches through 5 PM on Sunday at the 1015 East Chambers Street location or the 100 North Lyon Boulevard site. The cost is $3 per load for cars, pickups, SUVs and two-wheeled trailers.

Loads larger than this or loads for a commercial business are not being accepted at the two drop-off sites and must be taken to the landfill for drop-off.

Remember that branches and leaves must be separated and cannot be in plastic bags. Also, yard cleanup loads cannot include garbage and must be tarped.

The two drop-off sites will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but will be open on Friday and Saturday from 9 AM to 5PM and then one last time on Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM.
