Lance Bass Doesn’t Like Chris Brown Using That Other F-Word
Even though Chris Brown and Frank Ocean have pretty much dropped any talk of their alleged brawl -- and Ocean isn't pressing charges against Brown in the incident -- C-listers are still tittering about it.
The latest to chime in? Former 'N Sync singer Lance Bass -- but he's got a legitimate point to make, not mindless trolling.
Bass is taking Brown to task for using the word "f----t" (fill in the blanks -- we're too classy to write it out) in his argument and possible altercation with Ocean.
Speaking to Celebuzz, Bass fumed, “Calling people f----t and that stuff, I mean, he may not even mean what he means, but it’s a derogatory term that people throw out there and without even knowing why they are saying it. But when it comes to Frank Ocean and knowing that he’s … very out … it was definitely meant to hurt him," he said. "It’s never good to throw those words out there that mean so much.”
“I think there are a lot of people out there that have anger issues, and you can definitely see that in Chris Brown. I hope he gets the help he needs,” Bass added. “I hope Rihanna understands what she is in. I see it happen so many times in couples, where it’s like an abusive relationship and you don’t know it’s an abusive relationship.”
What bugs Bass most is that Brown, as a minority, is keeping the LGBTQ community down by using slurs when Brown himself may well have been insulted by them at some point.
“[Brown] should understand that being a black man ... he should know that the F word is just like calling you the N word in a very derogatory way,” Bass said of Brown's hypocrisy.
“When you come from a minority like that, being gay or black or whatever, it’s like there should be an understanding, like we all get each other. But you don’t see that a lot, which is really sad.”
Bass went on to speculate what could be at the root of Brown's behavior, and instead of looking at Breezy's upbringing -- he grew up seeing his father beat his mother -- Bass pinned it on substances.
“I know he’s just doing some dumb moves right now,” Bass said. “I think he needs to take responsibility for it. I don’t know if it’s drugs and alcohol and that type of stuff, but I really hope he comes to think that he’s really making dumb decisions right now.”
As for what can help Brown get his act together? Bass suggests jail time. (Good luck, bro -- Mark Geragos is a beast.)
“I think everyone can change, [and] I hope that he can change his tune. [But] we have all seen he hasn't rehabilitated himself whatsoever,” Bass said. “But you look at Lindsay Lohan and different celebrities that keep getting in trouble and keep getting in trouble. There is obviously a problem there. Really, the only way to solve that is, you are going to have to go to jail. They are going to put you locked up for a long time for you to really learn a lesson.”
In case Dr. Phil and Dr. Drew both retire, can someone hire this dude?
