With rain in the forecast for Friday, officials extended play at the South Dakota girls state tennis championships on Thursday.

After the day's singles matches were completed, the South Dakota High School Activities Association decided to continue doubles play through the first three rounds.

Sioux Falls O'Gorman leads the team standings after Thursday's competition with 392 points.  St. Thomas More is second followed by Aberdeen Central, Sioux Falls Washington and Rapid City Stevens to round out the top five.

Officials hope to complete the tournament outdoors at the McKennan Park, Sioux Falls Washington and Brandon Valley Middle School courts.  In case of rain, matches will move to Sioux Empire Fitness and Westward Ho.
