As I've said before, Summer TV can be pretty boring. Netflix to the rescue.

I spent a good part of yesterday binge watching The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

It is from Tiny Fey and a couple other people responsible for 30 Rock.

It stars Ellie Kuemper, Carol Kane, Jane Krakowski and appearances by Jon Hamm, Martin Short, and Tina Fey.

The premise seems bleak, but it equals hilarity. Ellie Kuemper plays a girl who at 15 was kidnapped and forced to join a cult formed by a so-called 'reverend.' He told the four women he kidnapped that the End of Days happened and the only safe place was in a bunker. She spends 15 years in the bunker before they are rescued. Cue the present, where she is pushing 30 and trying to make it in New York City.

The humor is fast paced and witty and full of pop culture references. Just what I like!

Honestly, even through Kimmy's lack of awareness and jokes, she is very inspiring. She has had terrible things happen to her and it never gets her down. She inspires everyone around her to live life to the fullest. She knows better than anyone that life shouldn't be wasted. Especially in a bunker with three other women. Kimmy is my hero.

The show came out in March so I guess I'm a little late to the party, but hey, better late than never, right?

If you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and check out Kimmy Schmidt. She's hilarious.

Plus, the show has a pretty hilarious theme song!
