Go Ahead and Think Kelly Clarkson Is Into Girls. She’s Awesome So She Doesn’t Mind.
Despite the fact that she was a part of the embarrassment that was ‘From Justin to Kelly,’ the adorable Kelly Clarkson has yet to do anything that can make us not absolutely love her. She’s talented, humble, loves her fans as much as they love her — and she’s cute as a kitten calendar.
And now she says she doesn’t care if people think she’s a lesbian. Which makes her all the more adorable.
First of all, in case you hadn’t noticed, Clarkson recently became engaged to Brandon Blackstock — step-son of Reba McEntire — so unless she’s in major denial, the whole lesbian thing everyone has long accused her of didn’t really take.
But according to what Clarkson told Cosmopolitan in an interview for its February issue, people have always assumed she must be into chicks.
“People think, ‘Oh, she’s been single for too long,’†she said, adding, “Being single doesn’t mean you’re gay.â€
Even so, she said she’s cool with the rumors. “I’m never insulted by it, obviously. I mean, I get hit on by the hottest girls ever. Oh, my god, if I were a lesbian, I would be so in luck. But it’s just not my thing. I’ve always battled for the boys’ team.”
Perhaps the true answer to the mystery of how Clarkson has stayed single in her straightness is the quality of her gentleman suitors. The ‘Miss Independent’ singer told the magazine, “Usually the guys who hit on me are tools. It’s the ones that don’t hit on me that make you like ‘Why didn’t you ask me out?’â€
Call her a lesbian if you must. She won’t care. But we’re just glad she finally found a decent dude who doesn’t spend his days hanging on the wall of your dad’s workshop.
