The two-year $17 million plus project to build up Russell Street is a sight to behold.  However the fixing is not finished.

You can definitely tell the difference when events at the Howard Wood Field/Arena/Convention Center/PREMIER Center complex take place and traffic flows pretty smoothly filling 6 lanes instead of 4.

One little add-on is occurring which is independent of the project that connected Minnesota Avenue to I-29.  A safety feature on the east side of the intersection of Minnesota and Russell will improve the commuter’s experience.  In the clip below you can see the beginning stages of a concrete median that will divide traffic slightly turning left on to Minnesota.

Note to motorists who use that thoroughfare to get to the State Penitentiary, there will be a few orange cones in that area for a few weeks.
