ATLANTA, GA -- South Dakota State and the University of South Dakota are among the teams named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's Division I Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll for the 2012-13 season.

The Jackrabbits ranked 13th in NCAA Division I with a combined 3.492 grade point average.  The Jacks appear in the honor roll for the eighth consecutive season and are one of just two teams ranked in the Top 25 to earn a berth in the 2013 NCAA Tournament.

The Coyotes were 24th with a 3.368 GPA.  It's the fifth consecutive appearance on the honor roll for the Coyotes.

SDSU, USD, Oakland and North Dakota State all represented the Summit League in the top 25 this season, while league newcomer Denver also made the list. Utah Valley had the nation’s top GPA at 3.639.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 annually recognizes women's basketball teams across the nation in NCAA Divisions I, II and III, the NAIA, and junior/community colleges that carry the highest GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2012-13 season is the 18th in which the WBCA has produced the honor rolls.
