After splitting the first weekend of Summit League play, the South Dakota State women's basketball team will try to win on-the-road this week.

The Jackrabbits play at Fort Wayne Saturday night, at IUPUI Sunday afternoon.

SDSU won their conference opener at home last weekend, in a 85-44 rout of Denver in Brookings.

It was a game that saw the Jackrabbits hit 12 3-pointers and play solid defense against the Pioneers.

Head coach Aaron Johnston that it was a complete game on both sides of the ball from his team:

That lack of defense was on display Sunday afternoon in SDSU's 83-78 loss at North Dakota State.

In Fargo, the Jackrabbits dug themselves a 22-point hole midway thru the first half and came close to escaping with a win late, but it was too much Brooke LeMar, as the Summit League's leading scorer poured in 30 points, 23 in the first half, for the Bison.

Week two of the Summit League schedule begins Saturday afternoon at Fort Wayne.

The Mastodons are looking to replace all-conference forward Amanda Hyde, who finished her career last season, and guard Haley Seibert is now the go-to player on offense, leading IPFW with 16 points a game, for the top 3-point shooting team in the Summit League.

Tipoff in Fort Wayne is 3:00pm CST Saturday afternoon.
