After back-to-back playoff seasons, the South Dakota State football team has cracked the top ten to start the 2014 season.

The Jackrabbits are 10th in the preseason FCS Coaches Poll, gathering 332 points.

SDSU is one of four Missouri Valley Football Conference teams to appear in the preseason poll. Three-time defending national champion North Dakota State is number one, with 18 of 26 first-place votes, Northern Iowa is 15th, and Youngstown State 21st.
