DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) – Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard has agreed to a five-year extension that will keep him in Ames through 2019.

Iowa State president Steven Leath announced the deal on Thursday.

Pollard has been with Iowa State since 2005. Though early coaching hires like Greg McDermott and Gene Chizik didn’t pan out the way the Cyclones hoped, he recently signed popular coaches Paul Rhoads and Fred Hoiberg to long-term extensions.

Iowa State has also invested nearly $100 million in new and renovated athletic facilities under Pollard, and season ticket sales for football have cracked 38,000 for the first time.
