A recent survey from Zagat suggests that the popularity of bacon is fading. After polling more than 10,700 diners in 17 American cities from coast to coast, they concluded that more than one-third of those surveyed believed the bacon trend was “over.”

However, 32% said they don't mind the bacon fad and 28% said they still "love it!"

So, which city is bring down the numbers? Would you believe Minneapolis? Where 50% of respondents said they were "over it" and only 14% said they love it!

In our home state, the pork industry in South Dakota is huge, producing 3.7 million pigs annually while creating over 7,900 jobs. Not to mention that industry contributes $520 million annually to the state's economy.

While in Sioux Falls when someone invites you to a bacon themed party - you go, eat bacon, drink beer, and have fun. In the meantime, good luck with that kale festival or beet bash, Twin Cities.
