So this morning on the show, I shared a story about a restaurant in New York doing something special for National Meatball Day on March 9. Ya, I didn't know there was such a thing either.

Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse in New York created a $100 meatball made with Wagyu beef, truffle cheese, foie gras, truffles, and a creamy champagne sauce on top.

Interesting, right? But the conversation took a turn when I vaguely remembered some song from elementary school about a meatball or spaghetti or something.

I couldn't remember the whole song, but plenty of listeners did. People phoned in to sing it to me, sent me youtube links, and sent me screenshots of the lyrics.

Mainly, I was just happy I wasn't alone in knowing a song about a meatball.

Isn't it weird the stuff that you remember from childhood? And apparently "The Meatball Song" was very popular.

In Google land the song was sometimes called "The Meatball Song" or "On Top of Spaghetti." I think "On Top of Spaghetti" is the correct title because it uses the tune of "On Top of Old Smokey." However, I think it should be called, "The Saga of the Meatball." I mean, this meatball goes a seriously crazy journey.

I think the favorite version I heard was from Sesame Street. Mr. Snuffleupagus had a hard time with his meatball.
