I knew roads were icy on Sunday, February 8, 2015 when my husband and I drove to Aberdeen, South Dakota, but I had no idea that the roads were THIS icy!

State highways were slick, even though they were treated. But for all of us who grew up on a county road (or even still live on a county road), we know that many times we have to wait for the SUN and warmer temperatures to take care of any ice accumulation.

However, until the sun takes care of any ice, why not make the most out of a slippery situation?

On County Road 9 just west of the small, northeastern town of Claremont, South Dakota, Jennifer Wegleitner, her daughter and the family dog all had some small-town, South Dakota style fun before the temps took care of de-icing the road.
