I had the honor of being one of the judges for The Second Annual Dancing With the Sioux Falls Stars, a fundraiser for NAMI Sioux Falls.

I made it very known that I would have rather been a contestant, but being a judge was truly a fun experience!

The event gave me an excuse to dress up (I even wore lipstick) and watch some awesome dance routines! Plus, it was all for a great cause, NAMI Sioux Falls. Not to mention, I met some really fun and amazing people at the event.

The celebrity dancers and their pros were as follows:

Rick Anderson - Frontier Bank
Glenda Pray - Date Night Dance Company

Sarah Blakely - KDLT News
Thomas Nguyen - LiRa Dance Theater

Shawn Cable - KSFY News
Raena Rasmussen - Balleraena Dance Studio

Nick Luther - Sioux Falls Fire Rescue
Tracy Quizon - Ballroom Dance Club of Sioux Falls

Karla Santi - Blend Interactive
Walter Babb - Dance Gallery

Ashley Thompson - Avera McKennan Foundation
Jeff Pray - Date Night Dance Company

Nick Wendell - South Dakota State University
Rebecca Hansen - Dance Ballroom & Studio

They all did such a great job and danced such varying styles that it was hard to compare them! Giving comments was pretty easy, there was a lot that they did well, but when it came time to actually assign a number, that was difficult. What really is the difference between an 8 and a 9? How do you really compare a jive to a foxtrot?

In the end, Karla Santi from Blend Interactive and her partner Walter Babb took home first prize and the mirrorball trophy!

Second place was Sarah Blakely from KDLT and her partner Thomas Nguyen.

First and second place was actually a tie and had to be decided by audience participation! (Thanks to Dr. David Pearce and a few last minute score changes.)

Third place was close as well and went to Nick Luther from Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue and his partner Tracy Quizon.

The event was hosted by Courtney Collen from KSFY and Alex Halbach from Cutler Law Firm. They did a great job! (I might be bias because Alex is my biggest fan and Courtney and I basically became best friends thanks to N Sync.)

The event was so much fun and raised a lot of money for NAMI and was sold out! So I am going to assume that it is safe to say keep an eye out for The Third Annual Dancing with the Sioux Falls Stars. (featuring Natasha from Hot 104.7 as a contestant.)
