UPDATE: According to the Associated Press, I-29 has reopened.

Travel remains treacherous in eastern South Dakota and some schools are starting late after a weekend blizzard that tore through the region.

Officials early Monday reopened Interstate 29 from Sioux Falls to the Canadian border, but many roads in eastern South Dakota remained in poor driving condition and no travel was advised in some areas.

High winds and blowing snow are making ravel difficult to impossible around the Sioux Empire and the Upper Midwest Sunday night.I-29 has been closed from Sioux Falls to the Canadian border. Blowing snow is causing white out conditions and slick spots.
