No doubt about it! Pastor Jeff Hayes says hunger exists in Sioux Falls.

During a conversation with a volunteer at the weekly Faith Temple Food Giveaway, Pastor Hayes realized how important the food is, especially to children.

“He said that a little boy came up to him at the food giveaway. He looked around and saw all the food. He said, ‘food, food. Now I don’t have to go to bed with my belly empty.’ We face that every week. People bring their children with them because they are struggling for food.”

Pastor Hayes says the turnout for last Friday’s food giveaway was incredible.

“We had about 400 people that went through the line. We had about 27,000 pounds of food to give away. Once again, the event was big!”

Right now, Faith Temple is gearing up for this week’s food giveaway.

“We are going to do it again this Friday at 4:00 PM in the Nordstrom Johnson Building at the W. H. Lyon Fairgrounds. The doors open at 3:00 PM”

The Faith Temple Food Giveaway is nearing its eighth year of operation.
