A cold front is expected to bring cold and snow back to the Sioux Empire Thursday. Plan on a snowy drive home Thursday evening.

Light to moderate snowfall is expected to spread across the region on Thursday and Thursday night. Snow will begin late morning in south central South Dakota, around mid-day in the I-29 corridor and early afternoon in northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota. Total snowfall amounts will be 1 to 2 inches north of I-90 and 2 to 4 inches to the south. Breezy north northwest winds could create some blowing and drifting of the snowfall. Watch out for potentially slick conditions for your afternoon or evening commute on Thursday!
