Stats can only tell so much of the story in regards to evaluating a rookies performance in the NFL.

Their resilience, their ability to learn on the fly, their work ethic and their ability to lead are just some of the other factors that are certainly important in that evaluation process.

Even though that is the case for the overall picture, stats themselves serve a important purpose in the process of evaluation as well.  Here is a look specifically at the stats of Vikings rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater through week 12 of the NFL season

Bridgewater has played in 8 games while starting 7 of them.  He came in against the New Orleans as Matt Cassel was injured.  He did miss one game this season due to injury against the Green Bay Packers.

He has completed 137 of 225 passes for 1,479 yards for a completion percentage of 60.9.

His longest pass on the season is 52 yards and has a per pass average of 6.57 yards.

When you look at his TD to INT ratio, it is no surprise considering the results on the field as a team that Teddy has more INT's than TD's.  To this point he has 4 TD's and 6 INT's.

Subsequently, his ratings are sub par as well, boasting a QBR of 40.8 and a passer rating of 75.0.

On the ground, Bridgewater has shown signs of mobility that only can help his chances of success as his career progress, rushing the football 23 times, for 97 yards and 1 TD.

The Minnesota Vikings just lost 24-21 to the Green Bay Packers as they begin a 3 game home stand at TCF Bank Stadium and will face the Carolina Panthers in week 13.
