Senior Claire Jeffress of Dawson High School was named homecoming queen last week. She is also the placekicker for her hometown team the Dawson Eagles. In a game last Friday, she drilled all 5 extra-points for her team. Then with 1:08 left on the clock, she hit a game-winning 30-yard field goal to help her school defeat their rival Pearland 38-35.

Jeffress spoke to chron.com about her kick saying:

"I just wanted to do what I've always done and not think of it as any big deal," said Jeffress of her game-deciding kick. My team had faith in me, and they were going to block for me, and the snap and the hold were going to be good, so I just had to do my job."

This isn't her first time drilling a game-winning kick. Just two weeks ago, her kick an extra-point to beat George Ranch 14-13. I'm sensing some colleges are going to offer her a scholarship soon!
