Home Builders Association’s 21st Annual Repair Affair Day in Sioux Falls and Brandon June 10th.
It may be hard to find a repairman for one day this week.
Members of all skill levels within the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire plan to donate their time and expertise on Tuesday, June 10th at the 21st Annual Repair Affair. With over 60 volunteers, the group will separate out to make repairs on 8 different homes. The volunteers will do repairs for homeowners in need of accessibility issues, such as building wheelchair ramps, adding hand rails, a deck, replacing a tub with a walk-in shower and installing grab bars.
Since 1993, over 180 Repair Affair projects have been completed by 1,100 volunteers, with over 5,000 volunteer man-hours. The HBASE Public Relations Committee developed the idea in October 1993 as a way of updating the homes of the elderly and disabled - adapting to current needs at no charge to the homeowner.
The repairs will be done with funding by a grant from the Sioux Falls Community Development.
