Since 2006 the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire has helped to donate thousands of dollars in equipment to area schools.

A recent news release states that the Education Committee of the Home Builder’s Association of the Sioux Empire (HBASE) is now accepting applications for its Tools for Schools program. High schools must be in Minnehaha, McCook, Turner or Lincoln county.

Tools for Schools is a program funded by the Sioux Empire Home Builders Care Foundation. The program was created in 2006 to help local schools improve their building curriculum and since then, has granted over $43,000 in tools and equipment. Tools for Schools strictly donates items necessary for students to learn hands on craftsmanship in the building industry.

Applications which can be found online are due to the HBASE office by May 1, 2014. Requests are reviewed by the committee and the donations are made in the fall of the upcoming school year. Questions can be directed to the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire at 605-361-8322.
