We've all been taught to believe that stress is bad for a person. It's something you don't want in your life if at all possible.

We also know there's no avoiding stress. Sooner or later, you're bound to experience some anxiety and stress in your life. There's just no getting around it. How you choose to deal with that stress is what's important.

There's a study out that says stress in small doses, can actually be good for a person.

Here are three examples of how a little stress can actually help you out:

  • Stress helps boost your brainpower. Low-level stress stimulates the production of chemicals called neurotrophins that help the neurons in your brain connect. So being stressed out about something like your kids might help you focus, just like exercising, which of course is a physical type of stress.
  • Stress boosts your immune system. But don't fool yourself; it's only good in the short term. When you experience stress your body produces extra chemicals that boost your immune system. But if you're one of these people that is always exposed to "chronic" stress, it can actually be very bad for your immune system.
  • A little stress helps you deal with future stress. There's no getting around stress. Everybody is going to have a certain degree of stress in their lives. Occasionally dealing with small amounts of stress prepares you for the times in your life when you really get hit with the stress whooping stick.

Stress actually plays a big part in Navy Seal training. Navy Seals in training are forced to deal with stressful situations so they won't panic during combat situations.
