Following the tragic death of a 16 year old Harrisburg student over the weekend, it reminded me of a story I recently ran across about how students in a Canadian high school recently said goodbye to one of their own in a cool and unique way.

A Canadian girl by the name of Laura Hillier recently passed away from an aggressive form of leukemia. She was placed on the donor list for stem cell therapy, but because of a shortage of hospital beds, her treatment kept getting pushed back, resulting in her death.

She passed away January 20th of this year. And as a result won't get to experience the excitement that comes with passing around yearbooks at the end of her senior year.

For that reason, her classmates decided to do something special and create a beautiful tribute to Laura before saying their final goodbyes. They wrote on the outside of her coffin everything they never got to say to her; things they would've written in her yearbook.

Since Laura's death, her family has made it their mission to spread awareness about wait times in Canada. To read more about Laura's life and what she went through, a special Facebook page has been set up. To see it, CLICK HERE.
