When it was announced that Motley Crue is going to be live in Sioux Falls in December, the first thing that I thought of was this odd creation from the early 90s.

This song was on the soundtrack to the 1991 movie Hangin' With the Homeboys. The movie stared John Leguizamo, Mario Joyner and Doug E. Doug, and I know I've seen it, but couldn't tell you a thing about it.

I picked up the cassingle for this song at Wal-Mart in Sterling, Colorado the week it came out. In 1991 I was all about the Crue and the Crew. And when I saw this on the stacks of cardboard wrapped cassettes my mind was blown. Motley and 2 Live together!?! Or at least 2 Live sampling Motley. That's basally what it is. The 2 Live Crew reinterprets Motley Crue's "Dr Feelgood" as "Hangin' With the Homeboys."

I can't really say if this is a good song or not. It's silly and goofy for sure, and the grating chorus keeps it from being a really fun song. But I have too much nostalgia connected with it to be objective. So, you'll have decide for yourself.
