Today is April 8th and that can only mean one thing!

Happy Rex Manning Day!

May 4th is for Star Wars fans and October 3rd is for Mean Girls fans, but today is all for Empire Records fans.

If you recall, in the movie, Rex Manning is coming to make an appearance at Empire Records on, you guessed it, April 8th!

Nothing can go wrong on Rex Manning Day, or can it!

The movie has a great cast of characters and names that are well known now, but weren't so well known back then. Listen to this cast list: Anthony LaPaglia, Robin Tunney, Rory Cochrane, Renée Zellweger, Ethan Embry, Johnny Whitworth and Liv Tyler. Not too shabby.

Empire Records was a total flop when it came out in 1995, but went on to gain a cult following, largely in part to the movie's soundtrack. (It's great. You should check it out.)

You know what just made me a little sad, kids today won't even understand the concept of a record store! They barely exist anymore. Sad day.
