International Women's Day is March 8. The day is used to acknowledge and celebrate women throughout history and all over the world that have great achievements and accomplishments. The day dates back to 1910 in Soviet Russia, but was adopted by the United Nations in 1975.

Now in 2018, the theme according to internationalwomensday.com is Press for Progress. The site describes this as, "A strong call to motivate and unite friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive."

This International Women's Day seems even more important thanks to the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements as well. Women are speaking up and out for themselves in record numbers. Also, women are working together, which is always beautiful to see.

Before you go thinking that it isn't very nice or inclusive to have a Women's Day and not a Men's Day, just you hold your horses. International Men's Day is November 19th!

In solidarity and celebration of today's International Women's Day, I have included a few female anthems! Nothing brings people together like music.
