Today would have been Whitney Houston's 55th birthday.

I was devastated when I found out Whitney had passed away back in 2012, but this is not going to be a sappy sentimental thing. We are celebrating Whitney and all of her glory!

Whitney Houston was someone that I just always knew who she was. I grew up with her music always being around.

Even at a young age The Bodyguard was amazing to me. Of course, I didn't totally understand the themes in it until much later, but I knew the music in it was phenomenal.

The Preacher's Wife was also a great movie. Whitney and Denzel=Magic! And who could forget Waiting to Exhale. Again, I was too young to understand most of the themes in that movie, but the soundtrack was phenomenal.

But by far, my most favorite thing Whitney ever did on screen was The Wonderful World of Disney's Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella where she played the fairy godmother! I loved everything about that movie. The colorblind casting was amazing. It was a star studded cast including Brandy, Whoopi Goldberg, Bernadette Peters, Jason Alexander, and Victor Garber.

I can't even begin to rank which of her songs I love the most. I love them all! "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," "How Will I Know," "Queen of the Night," "I'm Every Woman," "My Love Is Your Love," "I Will Always Love You," "I Run To You," "I Have Nothing," "It's Not Right, But It's Okay," "Greatest Love Of All," just to name a few. And who could forget her awesome rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner".
