Hafemeyer Named to AVCA All-Central Region Team

LEXINGTON, KY — Augustana junior middle blocker Holly Hafemeyer was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Central Region first team in an announcement made on Wednesday evening.
Hafemeyer, a native of Faribault, Minn., led Augustana in kills, attack percentage, and total blocks starting all 30 matches. The junior middle blocker finished the season with a team-high 362 kills (3.51 kills/set). Hafemeyer closed-out the season hitting at a .312 clip which ranks 10th in the conference. Hafemeyer compiled 92 total blocks while tallying 13 service aces and 73 digs at the middle blocker position. Hafemeyer surpassed double digit kills in a match 21 times and hit over 15 kills on eight occasions and recorded two career-highs this season. Hafemeyer smashed 22 kills on Sept. 18 against Wayne State and hit an impressive .688 attack percentage in a sweep over U-Mary on Sept. 28.
Hafemeyer is just the second volleyball player at Augustana to earn AVCA All-Region honors. Cayla Schroeder was named AVCA Honorable Mention in 2000.
Augustana finished the season 17-13 overall, including 11-9 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and qualified for the eight-team NSIC tournament.
