Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani could be taking their relationship to the next level in the near future.

The couple, who have been together for about three years, "are going to be announcing their engagement very soon," a source told Us Weekly. The news comes after Stefani, 49, said on the Ellen DeGeneres Show she thinks about marrying Shelton "all the time."

The No Doubt front woman's divorce from Gavin Rossdale may be gumming up the works, however. She's fearful of what an engagement could do to her kids.

"Blake has always wanted to marry Gwen, but she's always been extremely cautious because she has three kids to be mindful of," a source said.

Stefani said in December "there is zero pressure" for her and Shelton, 42, to get married. She added that their shared trauma from their previous marriages, however, is a factor in why they haven't taken that next step yet.

"There is zero pressure," she said. "I think when there's trauma, the way we had trauma back in the day, going through all these hard times, to get to a place where you find somebody that's like your best friend that you know that you can depend on and trust and just go through life. I think we're just trying to be in the moment as much as we can."

She added, though, that Shelton is her "forever."

"I never thought I would get this moment, and so it's just really special," she said of her relationship with Shelton at the time.
