Aaron Rodgers' hamstring is fine. Coming off a loss and bye, the Green Bay Packers made a statement against division rival, Chicago, routing the Bears 55-14.

Rodgers threw SIX touchdowns in the first half, as Lambeau Field was all cheers and smiles, Sunday night.

In the first quarter, Rodgers tossed a pair of touchdowns to his tight ends,  Brandon Bostick and Andrew Quarless to go up 14-0. Then, by halftime, it was 42-0. Rodgers rolled out and found Jordy Nelson for two touchdowns in broken coverage by the Bears. The first touchdown went for 73 yards, and the second went for 40 yards. Rodgers wasn't done, yet. He threw a screen pass to Eddie Lacy, that went 56-yards for a touchdown. Nelson and Randall Cobb were blocking down field for Lacy, as he rumbled into the end zone for six points. Finally, before halftime, Rodgers hit Cobb in the end zone, who made a dazzling one-handed catch.

Rodgers was 18-of-27 for 315 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions. He had an astounding 145.8 passer rating. Rodgers came out in the second half, but only completed one drive before back-up Matt Flynn got some extra playing time.

Defensively, the Packers continued to have Jay Cutler's number (so did Rodgers for that matter, tossing the same number of touchdowns as Cutler's number). Micah Hyde and Casey Hayward picked off Cutler, while Julius Peppers forced his former quarterback and teammate, to fumble. Hayward returned his interception 82 yards for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Jarrett Boykin also forced a fumble on a punt (he actually kicked the ball before Chicago's punter). But the biggest night came from Clay Matthews. With the Packers struggling against the run all season, defensive coordinator moved Matthews to inside linebacker with A.J. Hawk. Peppers and Nick Perry were Green Bay's outside linebackers. Matthews, though, seemed like the fit was natural. Matthews was energetic, and explosive, as he led the Packers with 11 total tackles (nine solo, two for a loss), and one sack. On his best tackle for a loss, he absolutely blew up the Bears reverse to Chris Williams and lit him up.

All in all, it was a very good night for the Packers. Rodgers tied a franchise-record with six touchdowns, and threw five of them to different receivers. Matthews helped the defense play with a new intensity.

Finally, take a look at these records that were either tied, or broken in Sunday night's game between the Packers and Bears, via SB Nation.

  • Rodgers is tied for eighth in NFL history with six touchdowns in a game. (Flynn also has thrown for six touchdowns in a game).
  • Rodgers' six touchdowns in the first half tied him with Daryle Lamonica (1969) for most touchdown passes in the first half.
  • 55 points scored by the Packers is the most points scored against the Bears, ever. (49-0 in 1962). (Single game record is 57 points against the Lions in 1945).
  • The Packers' 42-point lead at halftime was the second largest margin of victory in NFL history. It was also the most points the Bears have allowed in a half.
  • Rodgers passed for three touchdowns for 40-plus yards, tying a Packers record set by Cecil Isbell in 1942.
  • The Bears are the first team to allow 50 points in two straight games since the Rochester Jeffersons in 1923.
Rodgers is now 12-3 all-time against the Bears, while Cutler is 1-11.
