SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The Great Bear Recreation Park in Sioux Falls plans to open some of its ski slopes this weekend.

KELO-TV reports that the city-owned park lost much of the snow it produced earlier this year. Last weekend's cold spell allowed workers to produce enough snow to open 40 percent of the runs.

The recreation area served more than 38,000 visitors last winter.

Great Bear is considering expansion options that would allow the park city-owned park to cater to a wider variety of people.
